On July 9 the Placer County Association of Realtors’ Masters Club invited all local real estate agents to its annual Round Table Breakfast, where four guest speakers addressed current industry issues.
With this year’s theme, “When the Going Gets Tough, the Tough Get Going,” agents were educated on the following topics — short sales; Home Affordable Foreclosure Alternatives  Program (HAFA) and loan modifications; effects on your credit: bankruptcy, short sales and foreclosures and real estate owned concerns and questions.
More than 100 agents attended the event that featured a breakfast and care packages designed to help real estate agents serve their clients.
Sixteen companies offered sponsorship support, which allows the Masters Club to continue charitable work in its communities.
The Masters Club just contributed $100 each to 11 area high schools for their sober grad nights.
This September the Masters Club will donate $1,000 to purchase meat at the Gold Country Fair from the 4-H Club and National FFA Organization auction to benefit the Salvation Army.
In October, the Masters Club will be having its annual mixer with a coat drive and silent auction to raise funds for the following year’s charitable outreach.
The Masters Club is grateful to the following sponsors that made the Round Table Breakfast possible:

CalHFA program provides housing
The California Housing Finance Agency (CalHFA) announced last week that it has closed its first bond issuance under a new bond program to support housing opportunities for California families.
The New Issue Bond Program (NIBP) was made possible through a special partnership with the U.S. Department of the Treasury.
Through the NIBP, $380 million will be devoted to help finance affordable, multifamily housing developments.
CalHFA’s first NIBP issuance will help create a 185-unit development for senior citizens called Belovida at Newbury Park, located at 1777 Newbury Park Drive in San Jose.
The project has been allocated $24 million in tax-exempt bonds. Construction is expected to begin in late September 2010 and is scheduled to be completed by the fall of 2011.
“This support from the U.S. Treasury is helping us accomplish our mission of providing affordable housing for California families,” said Steven Spears, Executive Director for the California Housing Finance Agency. “The Belovida at Newbury Park project is the first of many affordable housing developments we will be able to finance with this bond assistance.”
Spears said another 14 projects are in the pipeline to receive approximately $176 million in issuance under the NIBP.
