Located within Whitney Ranch in Rocklin, Wisteria is a neighborhood of 60 homes  that is offering solar energy.
Christopherson Homes, which produced Wisteria, is providing solar electric systems standard on their homes.
“All Wisteria homes have solar, plus a variety of other energy-efficient components, which has shown savings of approximately 50 percent on energy bills,” said Karen Van Nus of Christopherson Homes.
Wisteria was the first community in California to be approved by the California Energy Commission’s New Solar Homes Partnership (NSHP).
The homes at Wisteria are built to a Tier II efficiency level — they are built 35 percent above current Title 24 standards. This can equal better energy and cost savings for the homeowner.
There are four different plans to choose from at Wisteria, including one single story. Plans range in size from 2,738 to 4,695 square feet.
Wisteria has seven homes available for immediate move-in: two single-story homes and four two-story homes ranging from 2,738 to 4,695 square feet.
