The Auburn area has always been a unique place to live. And now, the developers at Cobblestone Homes, Inc. think they've captured that uniqueness in a new line of homes being introduced this weekend.
Four new homes out of 11 in the Panorama Collection will be up for sale this weekend as Outlook at Indian Hill in Auburn hosts its grand opening.
"I sell a lot of real estate and I've seen a lot of real estate. This is by far the most surprising and fun architecture I've seen," said HomeTown Realtors owner Sue Thompson, whose company is selling Cobblestone's homes. "It's not normally something you see here."
The grand opening runs from noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday. The sales office is located at 1640 Ridgeview Circle in Auburn and the properties are located off Auburn-Folsom Road across from Granite Bay Vista.
The luxury homes have a starting price of $1 million and can come in a single or two-story model that features either a three, four or five bedroom floor plan. They range in square footage from an estimated 3,458 square feet all the way up to 4,090, and feature either two- or three-car garages. But again, it's each home's individuality that Cobblestone hangs it hat on.
"Each home has a different color palate and then coordinated with a richly-textured door," said Cobblestone's Director of Marketing Susy McBride. "Each of the doors, one could be cherry wood, one could be stained driftwood. Each of the homes have distinct detail in the architecture."
Cobblestone had 70 lots at the Outlook community and with HomeTown's help have sold 52 - there are just six lots still available to build on. The quickness in which the properties sold was surprising.
"A whole 50-lot subdivision might take two or three years to sell," Thompson said of the lots that range from a quarter of an acre all the way up to just under an acre. "These 52 lots sold and closed in five months."
Keeping with the theme of individuality for each home, Cobblestone's architects from Farrel Faber Architects in Santa Rosa designed each home so that the views of the Sacramento valley or Folsom Lake are easily seen from almost any room in the house.
"They did the necessary changes to the plans. Most people do one plan and build it on every lot," McBride said. "This was done so each plan would suit the lot, so that they're orientated for that view. Even though you might have a house in front of you, you'll still have a view."
Some of the other unique features of these homes are interior atriums and outdoor fireplaces. Most homes will also come with two or three indoor fireplaces. There is also a room called the "Dream Room" by Cobblestone, which is a room that can be turned into anything the buyer wishes - a game room, media center, guest room or home office, to name a few. The homes also come with options like a Wolf Range stove and oven package.
The homes aren't completely finished yet, and that's because Cobblestone wants to give its buyers the opportunity to upgrade and outfit the house the way they see fit. However, there will be a model open on Sunday for viewing to give buyers an idea of what the houses will look like.
"We want to offer these home to the buyers before they're completely done because everybody's lifestyle is completely different," said McBride, who estimates a move-in date somewhere near the end of May for the homes offered this weekend.
After Sunday, Cobblestone expects another release of homes in about four to six weeks time. For more information you can visit www.cobblestonehomes.com or call the on-site sales office at (916) 663-3239.
