Throughout its 50-year history, K. Hovnanian Homes has been a leader in building what has recently become known as “green” communities.
The builder recently opened the sales center at its newest community, Legacy at Fiddyment Farm in Roseville, which is being built with a high level of commitment to the environment.
Homes at Legacy will each include the latest in energy-saving features to reduce energy bills and minimize environmental impact.
“We’ve implemented a number of strategies to minimize impact during construction,” said Jordan Springer, senior community construction manager at Legacy.
During construction, scrap wood, drywall and concrete are recycled.
Some of the energy-saving features incorporated in the homes at Legacy include sustainable, concrete tile “cool roofs,” which reflect heat in the summer and offset the emission of carbon dioxide, leading to improved urban air quality; Frazee elastomeric paint, which is low in volatile organic compounds, promotes healthy air and longer lasting color and low E glass windows with vinyl-coated frames reducing heat and cold transfer. Eagle Solar photovoltaic roof panels are an optional feature.
Inside, the homes include 15 SEER rated furnaces with insulated ductwork to increase efficiency; 50-gallon on-demand hot water systems to save energy and water and dual-zone heating and air conditioning in the community’s two-story plan.
Homes at Legacy at Fiddyment Farm will range from 2,110 to 2,756 square feet with prices from just $304,990.
