Ever want to peek inside a fabulous foothills estate? That chance will come during the “A Passion for Elegance” home tour.
To help raise funds for the Auburn Symphony, six custom homes in the Auburn and Meadow Vista areas will be on display from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m, Saturday, Sept. 20. Hosted by the Auburn Symphony League, the self-paced excursion showcases extraordinary foothills residences crafted by award-winning builder Doug Gray.
“We are thrilled that Gray Construction’s clients are inviting the public to tour their beautiful homes to help us raise funds for the Auburn Symphony,” said League member Audrey Hubbard. “Word has spread about our annual home show, so each year the number of tourists grows larger. People come from throughout the region — and even the Bay Area — to see the incredible foothills estates on display.”
The cost to attend the rain-or-shine event is $25 in advance and $30 the day of the event.
Box lunches provided by Penguin’s Catering of Auburn will be available for $10 each, by reservation only. Lunch orders may be placed when purchasing advance tickets.
Advance ticket holders also have the opportunity to attend a free “Meet the Builder” reception. The special pre-tour gathering is being held the evening of Thursday, Sept. 18 at the Auburn studio-gallery of internationally renowned sculptor and artist Douglas Van Howd.
Due to limited space, reservations are required for this event and may be made at the time of the tour ticket purchase.
Limited to 200 guests, the reception will feature light refreshments and beer and wine tasting. During the event, guests will be able to tour Van Howd’s gallery of outstanding sculptures, visit with the Gray Construction team and get a preview of the custom homes they’ll be seeing.
