Great News For California Tenants

Under previous laws, tenants were to be provided a 30 day notice prior to eviction proceedings being filed. The law now provides that tenants are entitled to 60 days Notice to Vacate the property after Foreclosure. Thus when a Lender or Lien holder becomes the landlord by default (foreclosure), they must give their tenants a 60 day notice.
This applies to the rest of the family or family members and any other people that may be living in the house.  Any non-borrowers may live in the house for 60 days plus 45 days for eviction for a total of close to 4 months. This could be extended if the eviction is contested, there is a wrongful foreclosure is found or bankruptcy is filed.
This does not apply to the borrower(s).

This Law will remain in effect only until January 1, 2013, and as of that date is repealed, unless a later re-enacted.

See Code of Civil Procedures and Thank your Senators for keeping you from being tossed out without warning.
